Volunteering summer 2022

Volunteering summer 2022

It was all about volunteering at Centre 81 today! Two of our fab Route 81 young people helped create 38 lunches of home made tomato soup and a selection of exciting toasties for our community.
We also had a wonderful adult volunteer running our Centre 81 cafe, ensuring everyone was greeted with a smile and fantastic customer service!
One of our lunch guests told us ‘it’s nice to see youngsters doing positive things during the summer holidays. The menu is always different and interesting and tastes good! The staff are always pleasant and friendly. It’s the highlight of our week coming to Centre 81!
Our young volunteers told us ‘it was fun volunteering and it’s the first time I have ever cooked for someone else. It’s nice getting to see people in our community enjoying themselves and know you are providing a nice lunch for them’ , our other young volunteer told us ‘volunteering was really good and I learned new things and new skills. It’s good to do something for the community’
As well as creating a lovely lunch our volunteers spent time watering our ‘unexpected garden’ - ensuring some exciting crops continue to thrive which we can use at a future lunch!
It’s been a GOOD day

Make Kaitlin Scream

MAKE KAITLYN SCREAM!!!

Kaitlyn has raised £300 from her jump, amazing, thank you so much from all at Project 81.

Kaitlyn would like to raise money for Centre 81 in Garelochhead to help them continue doing their fabulous youth work and supporting the community."

To do this on the 20th June 2022 she will be free falling from a height of 40m (132ft) above the River Garry in Killiecrankie before the rope takes the slack and she accelerates through the air and over the river. It is definitely not for the faint hearted! Kaitlyn is being incredibly brave (her poor mum is terrified) so let's raise as much money as we can for this fantastic charity
